G-man had his third Pinewood Derby last night. His pit crew did a poor job of putting on the wheels so it wasn't the fastest car in town. In the second picture you can see many interesting things. First off the car closest to you is G-man's you will note that the other car seems to be ahead of his. Unfortunately that was the case in all of his races. He was real good about it but you could tell it wasn't his best night. You may also notice in the picture a few things such as the popcorn spread all over the floor also you will note that all the kids are keeping back behind the checkered flag line and if you look close you will notice Sparky on the other side of the track enjoying his own popcorn.

At least he had fun.
That miserable pit crew, he needs to do a better job of recruiting. Love the description of the picture it opens up new vistas that I hadn't seen the first time. There will be other races. Small comfort, but, life is all about overcoming disappointment. That's the pessimist in me I suppose. On the other hand someone went home happy and fulfilled.
Nice try G-man and pit crew. It's hard to believe at age 10 that there is more to happiness and life than having the fastest pinewood derby car. A good attitude is bestest & that's our G-man. But being fastest and bestest is always important to lots of us no matter what the wandering granny says! I like the pictures of G-man with his awesome looking car and seeing the track & spectators enjoying popcorn. I remember the fun times of my three boys making their derby cars & racing them. They weren't first in speed usually, but they were very excited about it all.
Wandering granny surely thinks that G-man looks handsome in his cubscout uniform with so many badges he's earned!
