Garrison the Conservative

Today I heard a new definition of conservative.  I thought I would let Mr. Keillor speak for himself.
"It's the conservative in me that wishes we had an old-fashioned government jobs program, such as FDR's Works Progress Administration, which hired unemployed people to work to build roads, libraries, public toilets, hiking trails, tens of thousands of small useful projects."
My italics added.

I didn't know that one of the biggest Progressive/Socialist presidents our nation has ever endured was such a conservative.  I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

I wrote almost the exact same post and then I looked at your blog. Well, it must be ironic enough to be posted on two blogs.
