Rear in year view

Well this is the time of year when there are "list" and "best of..." kinds of things clogging up the senses. Well here's some more.

I think I will skip around in no particular order. The pictures here are of the Corn Huskers just after the blessing of their latest youngen here by referred to as "Red". She is a cute little one and a bright spot in the year of 2008. There was also another bright spot in southern Utah here by referred to as "Magdog pup". As well as another bundle of joy in collage town here referred to as "Cowgirl Sher". These are bright spots in the year that otherwise was not so hot. I lost two brothers-in-law this year both in the space of two weeks. I suppose we could look at it as a net gain of one. I would have proffered a gain of three with out the loss of two but life is like that. Step father has been in the hospital for several weeks. Nothing grave just some pancreas problems that need I.V. drugs so he was required to stay in the hospital for Christmas and New Years. Some might say that he brought this on himself by his continuing to break the word of wisdom but I won't (except that I just did). I will go down the list of this here family from youngest to oldest just because.

'Leenie is now walking around like Frankenstein and learning more everyday. She has a vocabulary of three or four words. "Hi" this she uses very frequently and to great affect on all she sees. "No!" this is used much more than any other word and is her most powerful word. "bye" this is used in combination with a wave as she is going to bed. "mama" "dada" and "kitty" all used more or less in the right context.

Sparky, now seven has a vocabulary of several hundred words and walks around like a seven year old boy. He is in first grade and learning how to read. He is doing real well at this and is reading everything he can. He is also quite concerned with time. In particular 8:30 PM which is his bed time on school nights. He is so concerned in fact Santa gave him a watch in his stocking.

G-man, is being a good stout (and I do mean stout) kid of ten and doing all the ten year old boy things. He is getting quite good at making things with leather and Lego's. He is interested in all things mechanical and wants to know how things work.

Holl, is busy with band and piano and all things girly. It's nice for her to have a good friend just next door. She seems to have an easy time with her school work and is enjoying her foods class as well as we are enjoying her home work in that class.

Linc, is at present involved in basketball and doing rather well. He is about to get his drivers license as soon as he completes his drivers ed class.

Wife, is working hard at Young Women's, coaching track, coordinating the after-school program and running the after-school program as well as running our house.

Me, well I'm just plugging along.

Well, I'm a bit distracted right now, we are watching a movie so I will have to write more later.

Your kids are doing so well, I wonder if we really realize how lucky we are to have such good kids. What a world for them to grow up in. It's a good thing they're so interested in doing what's right. Love them, and love you and T.
