Winter is long here. We have probably gotten a foot of snow in the last several weeks. You can see that Linc is making his own entertainment this weekend because of the storms we were having cancled his ball games in Evanston Friday and Saturday. I think they have rescheduled the tourniment for this week but I'm not sure about any game schedule anymore.

Wife's Uncle K sent us an e-mail the other day of his girl playing soccor. I thought I would post a picture of what G-man and Sparky did this weekend. They had a rather nice day Saturday, the temprature was around 30 above so all the neighborhood kids went around digging in the various snow piles and making caves and forts. This is the fort infront of our house. G-man is kneeling down, not standing or sitting.

This is a shot of Angus looking over the snow pile infront of our house. Note the broom stuck into the snow bank. The snow has settled quite a bit in the last several days because of the worm weather (above 30). Saturday I went with Linc and his friend JC and one of mom's neighbours and shoveled off her roof. The wind blew so bad Thursday that they cancled all ball games and wresteling matches in our corner of paridice. Idaho (who closes their schools if two snow flakes join hands) has had their schools closed more then they were open in the last two weeks. Well we must have shoveled two feet of snow off the roof and when we were done the two boys jumped off the front roof into the pile in front of the bushes... many times.

Another picture of 'Leenie.

Our snow is almost all gone. We're expecting somemore today. All of the big storms in Jan, hit No. Ogden. We got the bulk of white stuff in Dec. We'd have to have a least a 3 foot storm before our district closed the doors.
I'm glad you guys got a little taste of snow over the mountains. Our older 2 boys dug snow caves in the 6' drift behind our house (it tapers down to 3' after about 25' and is about 150' long) 2 wks ago and little G sleep in his that night. They both collapsed a couple days later as more snow piled up. I missed work Thursday due to 4-5' drifts across our road. I had busted through the night before and had snow billowing over the roof of my truck as I got through them, but they had grown by morning and I got high centered passing through them. A neighbor finally was able to plow through with a "Cat" to pull me out and push 6-7' banks on the side of our road. I was able to make it to work but wife got stuck later trying to get out due to winds and drifts having increased. When I got "home" a neighbor had a backhoe digging out our road between us and the neighbor 600' east of us. Wifes car had made it 200' and the top 1 1/2' was sticking out of the snow. It took me a half hour to walk from neighbors home to mine through snow over my hips until I could get on the flat so it was just over my knees with the wind blowing pretty good. He was able to dig to the van after 1 1/2 hrs to pull it out and then spent 2 1/2 more hrs digging his way to his home west of us. He spent all Saturday and most of Sunday clearing the road and widening it more than just his loader width wide. Now we have 5-6' bank on the south side of our road and 12-14' bank on the north (of course thats after 4 days of melting. Luckily the wind blew alot of the snow off our roofs so we didn't have to clear them. Many houses and businesses north of us that are more sheltered from the wind had their roof collapse with over 5' of snow piled on them. So yes we are wimps over here in Idaho (although they close one day but are open the next day when it is even worst). Enjoy the little snow you have over there.
Transplanted Spud
OK, Transpud you win! I can't help it if you get wind there because of the state to your South. You may have a clear road in time to get to the Freedom Celebration.
I can remember one year as a little girl that the snow up at the ranch came up to my waist. It was level with the swings and all I had to do was hold my legs out and slide back and forth on the swings. Those were the days. Sigh. . . .
