Happy 100

Well the Tabernacle is one hundred years old today. It was dedicated on 15 Aug 1909. The "fun" started last night with a "Afton Tabernacle Choir" concert. Wife was a member of said choir and Tom Osmond was a featured guest. Bro. Osmond gave a life sketch of his Great Grandfather who was the first stake president and oversaw the construction of the tabernacle. He was somewhat hard to understand because of his deafness but I've has practice understanding people with hearing problems. The fun really started today when I went over to the church at 8:00 AM to practice playing in the brass band. I was seriously not going to play but I saw my name on the program as playing and there weren't that many other names on the list so I figured I had better show up. At 9:00 AM I started my ushering duties which consisted of standing by the Southeast doors and ... well, just standing there. I played in the band at 10:00 AM then continued my vigil at the door until 11:00 AM at which time I switched assignments and started watching the doings in the old football field. At 1:00 PM they dedicated a plaque that has been placed on the tower and then I was a door stop for the front doors for the people who wanted to see the contents of the time capsule that they found in the cornerstone. In all I was at the church for over five and a half hours. There is an adult session going on now that started at 7:00 PM but as you can tell I'm not there. Wife is singing in the choir again tonight and also tomorrow for the main session. We are getting a new stake presidency tomorrow as well. I figured that 5&1/2 hours plus a meeting at 7:00 AM tomorrow as well as the regular session at 10:00 AM may allow me to skip the one tonight.

This is to piss off the powers that be. Let them come after me if they are watching.

And here I was feeling board standing out in front of a school bus for an hour holding a sign asking for school supply donations. You got me beat by a long shot. Your Pres. pic is causing a lot problems, but they don't remember what they did to "Dubya". Where is the outrage when that happened.

So what you are saying is that I speak better than Tom Osmond? I wished I had been at there, it sounds like a big occassion!
