Well the oldest went to "Pebble Fountain" on a varsity track meet today. He competes in high, long, and triple jump as well as 110m hurdles. Just a bit of info about track meets. Points are awarded to the first eight places. 10 for first, 8 for second, 6 for third, 5 for fourth, 4 for fifth, 3 for sixth, 2 for seventh, and 1 for eighth. Well that said Linc after a week of no practice had a long jump of 16' 7" which put him well back in the pack. He had a time of 18.63 seconds which was about two seconds faster than his last time and came in tenth place. In triple jump he had a jump of 34"+ and came in ninth. He had a high jump of 5' 4"(not his best) and came in fifth. So he made four points for the team. On the way home they had trouble with their bus and ended up spending about two and a half hours at Little America (a truck stop/town). They should have been home at about 8:00 PM but it looks like it will be about 10:30 PM instead.
Sparky lost his first tooth today. It was very wiggly and he couldn't get it out so I got some dental floss and tied it to his tooth. I told him I would pull it on the count of three. I went "one... two... *yank!* He was amazed that it didn't hurt. I gave him two quarters for his tooth and he wanted to take it to show his teacher at school.

That's exciting that Sparky so bravely lost his first tooth and earned 50 cents, which is a goodly amount. Sounds like Linc's high school track meet was lots more challenging than middle school track meets were. Maybe the weather was very cold which isn't helpful for top performance. I'm glad Linc did as well as he did.
