Fouxbituary

Thelma Lou Ellen Hansomsailor Baker Hoopes Clark Jensen Johnson Wilkes Parker Nield Bagley Robinson Turner Hyde Heiner Anderson Neuwenswander Call Smith

Thelma Lou Ellen Smith 77, went to her reward Friday February 29 2023 at 9:34 PM. Thelma was born May 23 1946 to Rosie Rivitor and “A hansom sailor”. She lived in Allentown PA through her grade school days then at 12 moved to Roswell, NM for her high school years. After high school she married her high school sweetheart Ima Baker and to this union was born a son, Jim. Ima and Thelma parted ways two months later. In 1964 Thelma was working as a roady for Harley Hoopes and the Homeless when she married Harley. To this couple came twin boys, John Paul and George Ringo Hoopes. Unfortunately Harley died in a horrible saxophone accident eight months before the twins were born. The small family moved to Dallas, TX so Thelma could work in a book repository. While working in Dallas Thelma met and married Lewis Clark. Tragedy struck once again when Lewis was drafted and sent to Vietnam three days after their marriage. Lewis was listed as missing in action after the jeep he was driving fell into the South China Sea from a transport plane. After Thelma had Lewis declared legally dead she married his best friend Jan Jensen that afternoon. This marriage lasted until the next week when Jan ran away with Thelma’s best friend Betty Wood. In 1969 after a short marriage to Don Johnson and Booth Wilkes she moved to Woodstock, NY to get her head together. That summer she met and “married” Leroy “VW” Parker in the South pasture under a really far out tree. Moonshadow Sunray Parker joined the little family soon after. Later when Leroy just wandered away somewhere Thelma moved her little family to San Francisco CA. While in San Francisco she fell madly in love with Neal Nield and spent many happy hours selling flowers on the corner. After “one groovy” year with Neal, Thelma filed for divorce when Neal moved in with his special friend Bruce. In 1971 Thelma moved to Grasshopper, GA. There she worked as a guru servant to the Maha Shree Skinnedkneehe. One night at the communal feed store she dropped a bag of refried tofu on Homer Bagley and the rest they say is history. Thelma and Homer were married by The Most Fabulous Skinnedkneehe in a small ceremony lasting four days. Unfortunately the marriage ceremony lasted longer than the marriage for when Thelma sobered up she realized she had married someone named Homer. The summer of 1971 brought changes to Thelma’s life when she moved to New York, NY where she found work scraping gum from under park benches. During this time she met Swiss Robinson and was married soon there after. Due to the sharp cultural differences between then (she was American and he was a New Yorker) the marriage soon broke up. After a long afternoon sitting in Grand Central Station Thelma rebounded and found love in the form of Page Turner. Page came into her life at a time when Thelma needed him most. Thelma and Page made a good life rolling drunks and stealing from the homeless until that sad day when Page was killed in a terrible accident involving a manhole cover and a turtle. Looking for a new start she and the boys moved to Denver, CO where Thelma worked as a campaign chairperson for the McGovern presidential bid. While consoling each other over the loss Thelma and Runnin Hyde found that they had more than poor judgment in presidential candidates in common and soon married. Three years later Runnin froze to death one summer in the oil fields of Wyoming. At the funeral Thelma met and later married Runnin’s half cousin-in-law Lowell Heiner in 1981. They welcomed a girl into their home later that year who stayed far too late into the evening and got rather tipsy before Lowell had to call the cops to get her to leave. Things just didn’t work out with Thelma and Lowell and they parted ways as frenemies. After Thelma moved to Sawpucket, FL to work as a mermaid she met Andy Anderson after a Saturday matinee. They married and lived happily for two years, unfortunately their marriage lasted three years. Seeking to change her life she moved to Cannon Beach, OR. While working as a whale watching guide she came across Bo Neuwenswander as he was polishing sunglasses for tourists. They married on the beach at sunset but sadly Bo was lost at sea when the tide went out. Broken hearted she spent a couple months as a bar fly. After the twelfth step was completed she found herself in Squawbussel, NE. She continued her path to enlightenment while working as a school nurse and bar hostess for Hooters. Will Call came into her life and swept her off her feet. He was a street sweeper. Once the thrill was gone Will was gone too. After many years and many miles Thelma found herself in Bone, ID there she met the love of her life in Moriancamer Smith to whom she was married to at the time of her death.

Thelma loved her kids and enjoyed her grandkids as well as tolerated her great grandkids.

She was a good friend and a worse enemy. All the people she associated with said that she was a mean drunk but a great story teller.

She enjoyed many hobbies and worked many different jobs in her seventy seven years on this planet.

She is survived by her mother and her kids as well as her dear sweet husband Moriancamer. She is preceded in death by everyone who died before she did.

She passed through Star Valley once.

News of the day

The lead story of the local news today... "three bulls get loose and run around town."
and that is from the town we go to when we want to go to the city.

Curse you FB!

What a cute little girl we have been blessed with.
So willing to work but not yet willing to be potty trained.
Linc has enjoyed not playing basketball but being a "Super-fan" for the games.  He even went with his buddies to Casper to root for them at state. (lost in the consolation game)
G-man had his hair cut just like his old man.
This is a recital given at Christmas time with Holl's new flute and G-man's now paid for trombone.
Sparky and Sha sha sledding on our neighbours snow pile.

I feel I should only state trivial things on my face book page hence the song lyrics all the time.  I have grown lazy(er) over time and don't do much with information any more.  We seem to be able to get by in many miraculous ways and at times I just have to talk to the Lord and say "I don't know how we are going to make it through this but we will and it will be fun to see how it's done."  Things just seem to fall into place like some movie clip from some movie I haven't watched the whole way through.  A man just starts walking out into a cavern or large space and tiles or block just automatically swoop into place under his feet as he goes.  Just imagine that scene only it's pitch dark and you don't see the blocks moving up to meet your feet.  My life is like that much of the time.  I guess that's what faith is.  There is a good chance that this year will see big big changes in our house and not just having Link graduate and go on a mission.  I have plainly stated my reluctance to change before and my opinion of it hasn't changed (because I hate change) however it is coming whether I want it or not.

BUT spring is my favorite time of year with it's warmer temperatures and new life and green flora so perhaps my mood will lift as well and I can come out of the basement and into the sunshine.  Having been in Europe I identify with the Beatles tune that George wrote "here comes the sun.  Little darling it's been a long cold lonely winter".

Here's to Spring and sunshine! and it's all right.
