Be-czar

The word "Czar" is derived from the name Caesar and means "Emperor".
As of 20 July 2009 there are at least 32 Czars (ministers) in the presidents cabinet. Here is a list of them, what they make and who they report to. Those with a * by their name were started by previous administrations:
  • Afghanistan Czar - Richard Holbrooke -$unknown - Sec. of State Clinton
  • *AIDS Czar* - Jeffrey Crowley - $102,000 - President Obama
  • Auto Recovery Czar - Ed Montgomery -$unknown - Larry Summers, Obama's adviser
  • *Border Czar* - Alan Bersin -$unknown - Janet Napolitano, Sec. Homeland Security
  • California Water Czar - David J. Hayes - $unknown - Interior Sec. Ken Salazar
  • Car Czar - Ron Bloom - $unknown - Treasury Sec. Tim Geithner
  • Central Region Czar - Dennis Ross - $unknown - National Security Adviser Gen. James Jones

  • *Regulatory Czar* - Cass Sunstein - $unknown - Office of budget and management Dir., Peter Orzag
  • Science Czar - John Holdren - $unknown - Pres. Obama
  • Stimulus Accountability Czar - Earl Devaney - $unknown - Vice Pres. Biden
  • Sudan Czar - J. Scott Gration - $unknown - Sec of State Clinton
  • TARP Czar - Herb Allison - $unknown - Treasury Sec. Geithner

None of these "Czars" are accountable to anybody but the president and were appointed by him. Congress has no power over them. The people have no power over them. How unconstitutional can you get?

N.A.A.P.

On the way home from my job (Politically incorrect in so many ways) I got to thinking about all the organizations that there are out there and their possable companion organizations that would be instantly condemned as hateful, prejudiced, and evil by the thought police so here are some I thought of:

  • N.A.A.W.P. -National Association for the Advancement of White People

  • People First!

  • A.I.L.U. - American Individual Liberties Union

  • P.E.T.P. - People for the Ethical Treatment of People

  • United Caucasian Collage Fund

  • W.E.T - White Entertainment Television
  • A.C.M.R.N. - Association of Community Members for Reform Now

I can't think of any more right now. Perhaps my loyal followers could suggest more.

New Stake Presidency

We got a new stake Presidency today. I had a bit of a problem (personality clash) with the old councilor but had the feeling that the new presidency would also have a person in it that I would have to set aside personal prejudices to sustain. Well here they are:

President Mark Taylor (Linc's present head basketball coach and Wife's sort of boss)

1st councilor Corey Miles (I grew up with him)

2nd councilor Kelly Toleman (no big surprise there)

Wife predicted the two councilors but not the president. I will have to trust in the Lord and examine my own live to fully accept out new president. (There was one no vote at the sustaining... not mine.) I have no personal reason to dislike him but have observed a tendency toward pride in him. I suppose it's something I must work out for myself.

Happy 100

Well the Tabernacle is one hundred years old today. It was dedicated on 15 Aug 1909. The "fun" started last night with a "Afton Tabernacle Choir" concert. Wife was a member of said choir and Tom Osmond was a featured guest. Bro. Osmond gave a life sketch of his Great Grandfather who was the first stake president and oversaw the construction of the tabernacle. He was somewhat hard to understand because of his deafness but I've has practice understanding people with hearing problems. The fun really started today when I went over to the church at 8:00 AM to practice playing in the brass band. I was seriously not going to play but I saw my name on the program as playing and there weren't that many other names on the list so I figured I had better show up. At 9:00 AM I started my ushering duties which consisted of standing by the Southeast doors and ... well, just standing there. I played in the band at 10:00 AM then continued my vigil at the door until 11:00 AM at which time I switched assignments and started watching the doings in the old football field. At 1:00 PM they dedicated a plaque that has been placed on the tower and then I was a door stop for the front doors for the people who wanted to see the contents of the time capsule that they found in the cornerstone. In all I was at the church for over five and a half hours. There is an adult session going on now that started at 7:00 PM but as you can tell I'm not there. Wife is singing in the choir again tonight and also tomorrow for the main session. We are getting a new stake presidency tomorrow as well. I figured that 5&1/2 hours plus a meeting at 7:00 AM tomorrow as well as the regular session at 10:00 AM may allow me to skip the one tonight.

This is to piss off the powers that be. Let them come after me if they are watching.

What they did on their summer vacation

Here are some of the pictures taken on the family's trip South. They met up with the Toolee boys and went to Promontory Point. There was a zoo trip somewhere in there. I do believe a time was had.
There was a trip to BYU and a pool along with visits to friends and relatives and friendly relatives and relative friends. I held the fort down (I sat on it and that sucker wasn't going anywhere) and a little peace and quiet now and then is OK with me. This is a turnip from our garden. The planters of the garden this year were about as discriminating in the placing of seeds as they are at the placing of their dirty clothes. Hence this turnip was found in the beets.

A chat with Cynthia

I went to the fair today, not because I wanted to but because my congresswoman was there today. I parked on the street and proceeded to walk toward the exhibit building, one of the first people I saw was Mrs. Lummis. I stopped and talked to her for close to five minutes. She was quite personable and seemed to be very close to thinking as I do. I thanked her for her work and told her to keep it up.

Untitled

I suppose I should write a bit here since it has been a few days. The friends from Utah were up today, we worked on Oggie and had a weenie roast in the back yard. They just sent their 2nd boy on a mission to NY,NY Mandarin speaking. Not much is going on here, we are having a nice, fast summer. The family is heading South this next week some time, as some of you know. It's fair week here and I plan on not going to any of it except perhaps Wednesday between 4:30 and 6:00 when our congressional Representative will be walking around. I would like to bend her ear a bit so maybe I'll wander over there.
