Living where the weatherman stands

It came to me slowly. Over the years as I would watch the weather on different local weather stations and I began to notice something. The weather"person" would almost always stand on one side of the screen or the other and flap their arms while spouting about how cold or hot or windy it was in Bugtussel and that it was the coldest/hottest/windiest on record. It finely dawned on me that I lived in a place that was so remote and so insignificant that that is where the weather"person" would stand. I have gotten used to the sight of seeing my little bit of America over the shoulder or by the ear of the person telling me I should use extra hairspray in the morning. I consider this to be a blessing to be is such a remote place that even the local weather personality finds it not Worth mentioning.

I am taking Linc to "Cedar Badge" tomorrow and then I will be on my own for the rest of the week until Wife and the rest of the damnly get back from UW Friday.

Well it's putting on a light and sound show out there tonight so I had better get off this electronic device as a safety precaution.

What's for dinner?

No babies were harmed in the taking of this picture

Linc and I are batchin' it here at home while the rest are in UW country so Wife could go to school. Next week Linc is going to scout camp (Ceder Badge) so I will be home alone for the best part of a week (sniff).

six famous last words

I heard somewhere of a challenge/game that goes "if you had to sum up your life in six words what would they be." I thought of that for some time and came up with this for myself. "He did the best he could!" True or not that is what I would like for an epitaph.

Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I come home from slaving away at work and drag myself to the kitchen when what horror is casually tossed on the counter like a worn out piece of sisal baling twine but eight inches of Holl's hair! Staggering to the front room I inquire of Wife as to what evil has transpired and she flippantly replies that Wandering Granny has chopped off our daughters golden tresses. Imagine my consternation, never before has such a traumatic event transpired against those silken cords. Well... after the shock and awe passed and I had a chance to view the carnage... it really wasn't that bad. In fact I must admit it looks, dare I say it... better!

I call this photo: 1 & 5 -the first and the last-
